Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Hills of Aravali. It covers about 800 square kilometers of land. It consists of dry forests and rocky cliffs. It also encircles the "Jai Samand Lake" and the "Siliserh Lake". These lakes are home to numerous animals, such as snakes and crocodiles. Sara Wildlife Sanctuary was declared a wildlife reserve in 1955. It was a royal hunting ground of the Alwar state in Rajasthan earlier before it. Later, it was declared part of India's Project Tiger and given the Tiger Reserve status. This sanctuary is known for preserving Majestic Royal Bengal Tigers to save them from extinction.
Interestingly, Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary stretches over a humungous area of 801 square kilometers. It is located at 995 ft to 2370 ft above sea level. The ruins of ancient Garh-Rajor temples of the 11th century are present in the sanctuary. Furthermore, the vivid view of a 17th-century fort on the Kankwari Peak gives nature lovers a unique experience.
